Fuck the Facts are the best band with the word “fuck” in their moniker, which is both a blessing and a curse. Aside from that, anyone familiar with these grindeath Canadians knows that in only eight years, they’ve released more material than bands twice or even thrice their age. Seriously – go to Metal-Archives.com, and if their server’s actually working, take a gander at just how many records Fuck the Facts have unleashed thus far, and then you’ll come to understand that this one-stop shop is a great idea.

Though the disc only spans two years' time, Collection of Splits 2002-2004 has 40 songs from their collaborations with Subcut, Sergent Slaughter, Feeble Minded, Sylvester Staline, Conure, Manherringbone, and P.O.T. Also featured are covers of Godflesh’s “Devastator,” Anal Cunt’s “Don’t Call Japanese Hardcore Japcore,” Unholy Grave’s “Confession,” and Death’s “Empty Words.” The disc itself has 21 tracks that clock in at a little over 46 minutes while the other half is accessible via PC – a curious decision considering how much material they could’ve further squeezed onto the audio portion. At any rate, followers of this emotive, female-fronted group will be pleased by the, ahem, fact that these songs have been made readily available. Still, there’s no real reason to dissect the album here. It remains a niche release for longtime aficionados who’d rather own one disc instead of several, obscure splits. However, “Secret Asian,” “Medicated Like a Motherfucker,” “Unburden,” “Fingers with Candy Tips,” and “The Jaquio” are merely a few of the many incontestable highlights.

So, if you can’t get enough of Fuck the Facts’ full-lengths – especially the stellar Stigmata High-Five that Relapse put out last year – then make sure Collection of Splits 2002-2004 finds its way into your hands. This compendium is essentially a no-brainer. A no-fucking-brainer.
